Sharks are in the Water

According to Folklore (or Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife), there are no less than 40 different species of sharks that infest our beautiful beach waters.

Shark Attacks are statistically rare, but we are throwing logic out the window and reading all about it anyway!

It made me ask the question- Are there Romantic, Mysterious, or Interesting books I would read about SHARKS???

Answer- Yes.. Yes there are.

I mean, what could be more fun than watching people frolic in the waves (in totally shark-infested waters) while reading about sharks attacking people? Just kidding… kind of.

Honestly, I was surprised I found any books that worked for this theme.

Spoiler: none of them are actually about sharks.

I was really hoping to find a story about a lonely, beautiful woman swimming peacefully—only to be spotted by a shark… and then dramatically rescued by a tall, dark, mostly naked, and handsome man sprinting along the shore. No such luck.

Most of them are mysteries- so settle in, these books are still absolutely worth your beach time.

Shark Heart by Emily Habeck

Well… I wouldn’t exactly call this a fabulous beach read. It’s more of a devastatingly bizarre tale of the unknown.

The premise? The male character is slowly turning into a shark. Yep. That’s how it starts.
And I was like, wait—what?!
Naturally, I Googled it to see if this was a real disease. Then I laughed at myself because... I Googled it.

It’s weird.
It’s beautiful.
And somehow, it’s alarmingly moving.

Okay… this isn’t my usual type of read, but I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone—meanwhile, this poor child is stuck in one.

She’s kept in the dark about all kinds of secrets in a small, twisty little town. So many plot twists, you’ll find yourself teetering on the edge of your beach chair.

No, it has absolutely nothing to do with sharks...
