Local Woman Missing
By Mary Kubica
Book Club Pick: Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica
It all starts when Shelby Tebow goes out for a run—and never returns.
No body is found.
Then a mother and her young daughter disappear.
Still, no bodies.
Everyone’s connected, but no one knows how—or why.
This book kept us guessing. Full of twists and turns, it sparked a lot of conversation in our book club. Some of us loved the ending, others weren’t so sure—but we all agreed it was a gripping mystery.
To make things more fun, we played a game called
“Yep or Nope.”
As the story unfolds, you’re faced with moral dilemmas:
What would
you
do?
How far would you go to protect someone you love?
Could you really count on your friends in a crisis?
We each answered “Yep!” or “Nope!” to these tough questions—and learned a lot about each other in the process. Some answers were surprising!
Want to find out who your ride-or-die friends really are?
Try playing this game after reading the book!
If I accidentally killed someone- would you help me bury the body?
If your kid accidentally killed someone- would you help them bury a body?
If your spouse accidentally killed someone- would you help them bury the body?
If your kid got caught doing something illegal- would you cover it up?
If your spouse did something illegal- would you stand beside them?
Our Book Club isn’t just a group of women sitting around laughing...
Okay, fine—it is a lot of that.
But it’s also so much more.
For me, this space was created by my girlfriends at a time when I needed it most.
That’s the heart of sisterhood: showing up, sharing stories, and holding space for each other—sometimes with wine, sometimes with tears, always with love.
Join me each week for updates on what we’re reading and how it inevitably weaves itself into the chaos of my real life.
